67 UT MBA students and four faculty members were en route to Santiago, Chile on three different flights when the earthquake hit. Their planes were diverted to other cities. Three faculty members who arrived Thursday were at a hotel in Santiago and felt the quake, which struck approx. 200 miles SW. They are fine and returning home. The trip has been canceled.

The purpose of the trip was to "familiarize the class with the complexities of doing business internationally through experiential learning. Students were expected to evaluate a specific business issue and meet with educators, government officials as well as with high-level leadership in both local and foreign companies to discuss how business is conducted in this specific global business environment."
