GOP Leaders to Obama on Health Care: Start Over, Then We Can Talk

So much for the so-called Democratic "control" of the House, Senate, and White House. "Thank you sir. May I have another?"

Obama needs to hire the Dog

Obama needs to hire the Dog Whisperer to train Democrats on "calm, assertive" so they can rehabilitate the GOP into "calm, submissive" with "rules, boundaries, and limitations."

It's all going to

It's all going to reconciliation with the GOP shrieking as obstructionists in the corner.

The long-standing effects of

The long-standing effects of the Friedman myth coming home to roost. What's good for the Chilean economy is good for ours as well.

(Ending Social Security and Medicare? I think this is a far faster route to death panels, a/k/a "killing your grandmother" than actually, you know, giving them health insurance like Obama was proposing.)

I say vote on HR676 and take

I say vote on HR676 and take that puppy to reconciliation with an "opt-out" amendment. If you don't want public health care you have a one-time opt-out and you can stay on private health care until you are of Medicare age. Still have to pay in though. (What that will give us is a great yes/no data for NIH studies of which is better.)

I say straight up or down

...which would naturally include a slew of "Citizens United Not Timid" types of ads saying how government insurance is just like the quarantine scene from Hud.

APB!

The big story in Tennessee is that Marsha Blackburn wants to take your Social Security and Medicare away. This is an amazing and brazen attempt to steal something I worked for 44 years to earn!
