We got a late start (and missed our turn and went about 20 miles out of the way) so we didn't walk the Hammock Trail yesterday. But we did spot the Reddish Egret at the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and watched him (her?) for a while.

They are somewhat gangly and their fishing antics are quite entertaining to watch. They run around leaning sideways and leap and stab at the water like they're crazy or drunk. He (she?) was too far away to get any good photos of the feeding action, but it was fun to watch.

The eagle was back in the same tree we saw it in the day before.

You've an enviable eye.

That's stunning.

Wonderful stuff. I love

Wonderful stuff. I love photos of birds in flight, and you captured some great postures. The eagle leaning into takeoff is great. The contrast of the wood storks against the water is also quite striking.
