there's some serious damage from the high winds out there. driving on western avenue, i noticed a traffic light that had snapped and was hanging from its electrical cord. the lights are out for several miles along kingston pike, with the busy intersection of kingston and northshore particularly difficult. not a policeman in sight, but there were a few patrol cars giving speeding tickets on I-40 and city workmen doing some gardening along henley ...

Yes, I saw the two

Yes, I saw the two KPD cruisers on the interstate (even teamed-up as the spotter and the chaser) writing tickets near Papermill while traffic lights are out.

i sent a copy of the above

i sent a copy of the above to the city mayor and city council and received a reply that work crews were repairing the damage. i didn't receive any response related to the police, however. doesn't the KPD come under the authority of the city, or is it an autonomous body?

it would seem a no-brainer that when traffic lights go out, there be a small force deployed to help with traffic control at certain intersections.
