The first SEC Championship game was in 1992. The teams were Alabama and Florida with Alabama winning the championship.

This is the second straight year the game has pitted No. 1 vs. No. 2 (last year Alabama was No. 1 and the Gators No. 2). The last three teams to win the SEC Championship Game have gone on to win the national championship.

SEC Football! Hooah!

But I don't like either

But I don't like either team. Great day for shopping, says I.

I don't like either team as well...

But I think Florida will beat Alabama by at least a touchdown.

Caveat

The question polled was "who are you betting on". This is different from "who are you pulling for". Even though I am old enough to remember when UT's real hated rival was The Tide, I am still pulling for them now. Just don't think they quite can pull it off.

Why? I haven't watched Alabama enough. It does appear that Florida is not as dominating (I'm told vibrant is not a good football term) this year. They are winning but they are having a tough time at it.

We got us a game down there

We got us a game down there in Atlanta.

Alabama drew first blood and got inside Florida's head. But it looked for a minute there like Alabama's missed extra point was going to haunt them. Then Florida made some big mistakes. Then Florida woke up and got their head in the game. Then Alabama fought back, and Florida goes to the locker room at half time with their tail between their legs wondering who whupped up on them.

It's a good one. Anything could happen, but that missed extra point could end up being the key to the game for Florida.

SEC championship football and a big pot of chili with some cornbread. Don't get much better than that. And I don't even like football all that much.
