At least early on, I find this to be the most interesting race of all the races, and I am only talking about the primary. Currently, we have current county commissioners R. Larry Smith and Michelle Carringer, Lillian Williams, and Andrew Graybeal whose name is on the ballot in both the 7th and 8th because of redistricting. Who do you guys like?

Smith along with Larry V.

Smith along with Larry V. has done a lot to expose corruption and missuse of the taxpayer's dollar....I support him for doing that and being willing to address other issues such as the 7th district homeless issue.

He is willing to listen. Just ask Brad Mayes how he has made a difference.

Shannon, evidently you don't

Shannon, evidently you don't know much about R. Larry Smith.

I know quite a bit but the

I know quite a bit but the only thing I am addressing is his work now and specific work....the fact Mary Lou called with information is irrelevant to me. And I don't like the fact Michael stated, as quoted in KNS (it may be wrong) she agreed to hold the seat until Moore won his case, does not sit well with me.

Past to me is past....if something current comes up I am happy to consider it.

We all have things we are not proud of but sometimes this makes us a more understanding person.

I am not particularly convinced that if a person lives a perfect life they are the best one to represent me.

and graybeal changing party

and graybeal changing party affiliaions makes me doubt his sincerity also...he seems just to want to get elected to something, anything.

Graybeal

I agree. I would assume the Republicans won't buy it.

So if you don't know about

So if you don't know about it, it doesn't count?

Maybe you should get out more.

is it relevant or is it

is it relevant or is it dirty politics? If it is relevant I feel it needs to be posted....if it is personal and happened perhaps fifteen years or more ago, it is dirty politics and an attempt to detract from the issues of importance for my community.

Phillips in 2008 while sitting on the school board is relevant as an example.

Shannon, I'm not talking

Shannon, I'm not talking ancient history.
I agree the choices are dismal in that district, but it appears to me that you are basing your judgment on R. Larry's grandstanding support of Brad Mays, which is really pretty peripheral.
R. Larry is a grandstander who sniffs the wind before he ever takes a public stand. Check his consistent support of Ragsdale.
R. Larry attempted to hold up federal funds for AIDS education because "people in my district don't believe in that kind of thing."
He promised to donate his entire salary to worthy causes in his district. Has he?
I did three or four stories last election cycle about R. Larry intimidating elderly people into allowing him to plant signs in their yards. Two of the TV stations picked this up and several victims (mostly widows who lived alone) complained about it on the record.
There's a lot there, but it sounds like you're quite comfortable on the R. Larry bandwagon.

R. Larry

Larry seems good on the surface but you hear especially from folks in Halls there's something else lurking on the other side. I had forgotten about the AIDS thing. I think term limits and others stuff have given rise to folks like him. If you are for term limits and against Lumpy thats all some people need no matter what you really believe. It seems like Carringer has a little bit of sneakiness in her too.

I just wonder

I just wonder who will be willing to accept any contributions from Bill Phillips in kind or not.
He has been known to be very kind to some in the GOP: Moore, Hutchison, Ballard, and Alford to name a few.

My ittle expose corruption story about R.

I am reminded of last Senate race. A benefit was held in Gibbs for Senate Candidate Mike Padgett. En route it was reported to Mr. Padgett that his 4X8 campaign sign was taken off Black Oak Ridge by none other than R. mower. It was too funny as R. is a very tall and recognizable man and the thought of him taking the sign down in broad daylight, well… Upon arriving to the event Mr. Padgett called R. directly and told him in no uncertain terms that the sign would be re-erected by the time the event was over... and it was. Hee hee.

Personally, I am rooting

Personally, I am rooting for Michele Carringer. She is very nice and warm, smart, comes from a very good and successful family. My other thing is that I am worried that their are not enough females on commission. I believe that we need equal representation of the community, and having 9 white males, 1 black male, and 1 female is not equal representation.

Second, I wouldn't vote for R. Larry Smith if you paid me, emphasize paid.
