A parade to honor veterans will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2009, through downtown Knoxville.
U.S. President Woodrow Wilson first proclaimed an Armistice Day for November 11, 1919. President Eisenhower changed it to Veterans Day in 1954 to honor all veterans of all wars.
The parade will start at 10:45 a.m. at the Knoxville Colisuem, and then run along Church Street, right onto Gay Street, and then right onto Summit Hill.
