Seems I declared it dead prematurely:
We just learned that there is a strong possibility that Speaker Pelosi WILL allow a vote on single-payer. The vote may happen as early as tomorrow (Friday) morning. Whether it is offered as a stand-alone bill or as an amendment to the health care reform package, this will be the FIRST vote ever held on single-payer health care in the full House of Representatives.

Take action to support single-payer health care.

Ok, wait
Kucinich and Conyers say "hold up on that car wash, gentlemen" and discourage a vote on Anthony Weiner's bill. What would have been fantastic WAS the Kucinich amendment which would waive the ERISA law to allow states to set up their own single-payer systems, which is dead.
Bernie Sanders submits single payer amendment 2837 to hr3590
We'll see who goes on record for or against.
Sanders moves it forward
