Thanks to Betty Bean for organizing the KnoxViewers night out. It was a great evening of conversation, music, and adult beverages.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by, including SayUncle, Steve of Whites Creek, Bill Lyons, Betty Bean, JAH, Rikki, Bob Stepno, Stan G., and FactChecker/Hobart (whose brother was one of the performers and a great guitar picker), Mrs. FactChecker (later at the show), Dixie Bell, and SnM & DnB. We also ran in to Michael and Lil' Amy outside on the patio. It was a pleasure seeing everyone, and finally getting to meet some of you in real life for the first time.

All the performances at the "Forever Young" Dylan birthday concert were excellent. Maggie Longmire is an amazing singer, and so is Will Horton, a 17 year old up and comer to keep an eye on. There was a good turnout, too. I'd estimate 150 to 200 people. It was standing room only, and Betty Bean knew just about everybody there, including Randy Tyree who spotted her and came over to talk. Smart politicians apparently know who to keep on their good side.

Anyway, nice seeing everyone, and we'll have to do this again sometime.

(P.S. And as is frequently the case with these types of get togethers, there was some pretty good gossip that will soon be news. Three stories, that I can recall. But they are on the QT for now. I guess you had to be there!)

Sorry to have missed it

Well, y'know what with distance and all. I spent last night with a nice Friuli sauvignon, tinkering with my wife's new scooter, in an apartment devoid of dog, children and said spouse. They went to the Shore for Memorial Day.

I don't know my itinerary yet, but I may be in Knoxville in July (between 5th and 10th). I'll stand a round if there are any takers.

That was an excellent evening with fascinating people, but much too short. Such diversity.  We need a month of Wednesday evenings just to cover the birds, lenses, and gossip we touched on last night.

You know...there's this great Thai restaurant in Maryville...

So that's where Bill Lyons went when he left the South Waterfront Oversight Committee meeting early.  Tsk, tsk.

Very productive meeting, BTW.  If anyone wants to hear what was presented & discussed, essentially the same material will be covered in a Council workshop this afternoon at 5 p.m. at the Drop In Center.

 I know I keep promising to post a report, but I really, really will try to do so this weekend.

Same here.  It was fun meeting the real people behind the screen characters.  Given the limited time to meet to make the rounds, everyone really hit it off.  And what a party it was at the ETHC!   It beat the heck out of most real concerts for an all around good time had by all.  Sort of a strange venue, but comfy and accommodating (i.e., the bathroom was close by and very clean!).  Maybe next year the Bijou or back to the Laurel?    
   
It was the most fun night out I've had in a long time.  And yeah, let's do it again and not wait so long.

Gosh, that was fun -- I think we should do something like this again soon. Meeting all these people behind the SNs was a blast, and every single one of you is someone I am glad I know. Thanks to everybody who showed, and thanks to Mr and Mrs SKB for creating this joint.

And yes, Unk, I'll come shoot guns with you.
