Conservatives pass more stop-gays-in-love laws than Abraham had wives.
Tennessee's popular vote concerning an amendment to our state's constitution is coming up. This heterosexual frenzy was pushed by state Republican Caucus leader Senator Jeff Miller. He's quitting the legislating business after this term because he has problems at home and a sincere, if belated, desire to spend more time with his family.
On the national level, VOLuntarily Conservative Rob Huddleston is peeved that Bush isn't whipping up the 28th Amendment. As for DeLay's abdication, Huddleston has spotted his new Majority Leader, a fellow named Shadegg. He acknowledges Shadegg's wife leavin' & staff assistant cheatin' "...but I have no problem with him based on the business-end of things"
OK, what's the business end, passing Constitutional Amendments to protect marriage? Too late for the Mrs. Shadegg.
The Conservatives need a new slogan, something like:
CHARACTER COUNTS SO WE MADE IT A LAW

S. Carpenter -
Business, in the context in which it was used in the "Comments" section, referred to Congressman Shadegg's past performances - including his ratings with the NRA, Americans for Tax Reform, etc. To my knowledge, a constitutional amendment to define marriage by Congressional edict (rather than a judicial one) has not been passed by the Congress and, therefore, would not have been part of what I was referring to as Shadegg's "business."
Have you openly challenged Instapundit, Hugh Hewitt, Ed Morrissey, et al, who have openly endorsed Shadegg? As you know (or should know), I have not endorsed Shadegg as they have, mostly due to my hope that an alternative is available. Of course, you didn't present your post as such, did you?
As for your rhetoric, quite cute. Liberals and libertarians are good at coming up with cute rhetoric. Too bad they're not as good at coming up with solutions.
Cheers,
Rob
Liberals and libertarians
Didn't realize dudes kissing was a problem. Speaking of rhetoric, should I run down the current Republican list of it?
That's not to say that libs and libertarians don't use rhetoric but all ideologies do.

Can't we all just get a long gun?
In the comments section, so?
In the comments section, so? Up top you said "I support the movement to have some fresh, untainted blood in the GOP leadership. Shadegg certainly fits that criteria...."
I'll accept the "cute rhetoric" label if you'll also see clear that Conservatives are abusing the Constitution by using it for rhetorical purposes. How else can you explain why the biggest sponsors also be the biggest hypocrites. For those that have forgotten, the meaning of the word is one who, professing virtues that he does not respect, secures the advantage of seeming to be what he ain't.
Thanks for talking with me about it,
S Carpenter
