Governor Wamp. Think about that for a second, then watch the following clip.

(Congrats if you can stand to watch the whole thing without hurting yourself.)

Have a great weekend, everybody!

What an embarassment for Tennessee

I think the Zackster might have been the model for the slack-jawed yokel on "The Simpsons." I wonder what percentage of the Tennesseans who actually voted for this moron thought "Forrest Gump" was a documentary.

Congressman Wamp seems to

Congressman Wamp seems to feel that healthcare is not a 'right' for those who choose not to have coverage. He then makes the point that those who choose to decline coverage and then require medical services cost the proverbial 'you' money. Isn't that actually an argument for universal coverage?

And

Yeah, and Zack just happens to be one of the "privileged" with his gold plated health care courtesy of American taxpayers.

I also heard Max Baucus saying that instead of removing tax breaks for the very wealthy to pay for health insurance, we should tax company provided "gold plated" plans instead. Hey, Baucus, what abut your plan? You wanna pay a tax on your taxpayer gold plated plan? Jerk.

This is class warfare, plain and simple.

"The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice."

Does Wamp understand that

Does Wamp understand that many folks who refuse coverage do so because they can't afford it even tho it might be offered (e.g. Walmart employees)?

I seriously doubt it.

Isn't Wamp a recovering drug addict?

Just like his hero, Limbaugh?

This is an old, stupid

This is an old, stupid debate.

Health care is not a right. Health care is not a privilege. Health care is a basic necessity just like food, water, and shelter.

An enlightened society works to ensure that even the least among us are provided for in these regards.

Sicko is running on on

Sicko is running on on Showtime or Cinemax or some such right now.

Every one of these goons should be required to watch it with a pop quiz after.

If it doesn't piss you off (and not as in pissed off at at Michael Moore, because this is one of his more straight-up, indisputable documentaries), there's something fundamentally wrong with you.

Are some of Micael Moore's movies disputable?

Does Moore get his facts wrong? I'm afraid some liberals have absorbed some conservative talking points. Read the rebuttal here:

Yes, thank you for pointing out that I am all about absorbing Conservative Talking Points and spreading them on this site.

Anyway, what's your opinion on whether health care is a right, a privilege, or a necessity?

And what did you think of the movie Sicko?
