Check your grocer's frozen treats section for Balliro's Italian Ice Sorbetto, "the True Italian Ice" (according to Balliro's). Trust me, it's great.

And bonus, it's low in calories and carbs for those dieting or watching your blood sugar. One-pint has 160 calories, 40 grams of carbs, and 100% of your daily Vitamin C. One pint is supposed to be four servings (40 calories, 10 grams of carbs, 25% of you Vitamin C) but you'll want the whole pint for yourself, so get enough for everyone. It's so good, I have a hard time believing the "nutrition facts."

It comes in tangerine, lemon, strawberry, and chocolate flavors (the chocolate version has more calories and more sugar.) Tangerine is the best, but the lemon is pretty good, too.

It's apparently made by a local company, Balliro Corporation. We find it at Kroger, Food City, and Fresh Market, although stores seem to have a hard time keeping it stocked, especially the tangerine flavor. Please buy lots of Balliro's Sorbetto, and if your grocer doesn't stock it tell them they should. We want it to be a huge success so there will be a steady supply.

(We are not connected with this company in any way and this is not an advertisement. We just like the stuff.)
