The winter solstice for the Northern Hemisphere occurred on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 10:59 a.m. EST.

After December 21, the days will begin to grow longer and will continue to do so until we reach the summer solstice in June.

Sunset

Sunset.org has the earliest sunset on Dec 5, I'd been following WVLT which had it in the following week. There are a couple of weeks when time of sunset is almost the same, we are just about to enter the time when it sets at least a minute later every day.

The latest sunrise won't be until Jan 6.
