Originally brought to light by The New York Times, the Bush Administration may have authorized "painful interrogation tactics against terror suspects — despite the Bush administration's insistence that it has not violated U.S. anti-torture laws."
...
White House spokeswoman Dana Perino... "would not comment on whether the 2005 opinions authorized specific interrogation practices, such as head-slapping and simulated drowning."

I'm not sure the Bush Admin has any respect for mankind, much less the US Congress and the American people.

Top story on Faux News today

Top story on Faux News today (all day) is about Obama not wearing his flag lapel pin. You people need to stop letting yourselves be distracted from the real news by trying to read too much into a little torture memo.

Extreme Rendition

The "torture memos" are another reason to be glad that Gonzales resigned as U.S. Attorney General. Dubya seems in no mood to apologize as of this blogging. The only way to "regain the moral high ground" is for the people to elect a Democrat to the White House next year. Until then, I believe that no real changes in policy will be effected. Obama said he would not have these policies. I am certain that Richardson, Clinton, and others feel the same way. I am currently for Richardson.
However, if he should fall by the wayside, I would be for Clinton. I think she is more practical-minded than the others. On the other hand, I also admire Biden's speaking out on some of these issues. We need, I think, to fall back to the staging areas in Kuwait and Northern Iraq at a certain point in time.

Thing is, I would not know, at this time, WHEN this should be done. One thing IS looking for certain, is that
the next president will still have to deal with Iraq. Also, kind folks and gentlepeople, don't forget that the Afghanistan War is still being fought. Our troop strength is too low there to be effective. The taliban in Afghanistan is resurging. We need more help from the U. N. and NATO. Britain is already scaling back its troops. Perhaps a prisoner repatriation would be a good thing to get some talking points.

I think Edwards finds the torture deplorable

He seems to be very outspoken these days about changing things dramatically. He says very clearly that he will end the war. I'm liking him more and more...

"I never was gay"

This is a necessary addition to show constituents that the Senator believes in "the cure".
