"If he is found guilty, then prosecute him."
Knox County GOP Chairman Brian Hornback

WHO???

He could be talking about the Tim Hutchison and his guilty of criminal contempt charge, right?

West. But it doesn't matter. He doesn't seem to have much grasp of, you know, the law.

Hornbackisms

We here at KnoxViews should do two things: (1) begin collecting these coinages a la "Bushisms," and (2) run an ongoing contest for similarly idiotic phrases.  Here's a few lame ones off the top of my head, just to break the ice:

"If he's been sheriff too long, then re-elect him."

"If his mission is accomplished, then send him into battle."

"If he has a cheesy goatee, then shave him one."

"If he has no command of English, then put him on the school board."

Oh, wait...

If you substitute

If you substitute "investigate" for "prosecute" you have the Republican stance on any allegation of wrongdoing by Bushco.

There's really a high standard for Knox GOP chair, isn't there?

Once again I must remind

Once again I must remind those who post under the "Anonymous" handle that you may be thought to be Hornback. Your brilliant post may be disregarded. He has a prose that cannot be faked nor duplicated and stands out from the more mundane use of the English language. Sort of a noun verb dyslexia. I suspect many “Anonymous” posts in the past few months are indeed Hornback.

This is just a few lines

This is just a few lines after he says: "Remember, accused -vs- guilty".

WTF?

The Knox County GOP must be so proud of their great leader.

I guess unless you're in their "Big Tent" (aka Narrow Tinhat), those are the only two categories anymore.

Don't forget, Hornback's also a former school board member, but a one-termer at that. He also lost to a closet Democrat in overwhelmingly Republican Farragut.

Hornback may have the last

Hornback may have the last laugh. Literally. If Tom Salter does not win the District 5 race over John Griess, Hornback will be the likely replacement for Griess. It takes 10 votes on Commission to pass anything. There are three commission seats in District 5 and they vote as a block. That is almost a third of the needed ten votes.

I think that would be news to the three of them.  Look, Leuthold, Griess, and Hammond are all Republicans, share the same general philosophy, and usually vote alike.  But not always.  For example, Leuthold and Griess were smart enough to vote to sell South High.  Hammond, OTOH, stuck with Paul Pinkston on that one.  (I did hear that he later regretted it....)

Of course Hornback is a stickler for spelling

If you're found guilty and then prosecuted, the punishment is execution followed by hanging.

I believe it is similar to the language used by Yoda, it is.

I think it is called Hornbackian. It could be a clever code used by the Republican Elite in Knox County. A higher level of Pig Latin only decipherable by the greatest minds...

Of course Hornback is a stickler for spelling. DO NOT spell Commmissioner with 3 m's or you will be accused of lacking "basic skills".

Democrat Commissioner lacks basic skills

County Commissioner Mark Cawood has served for 20 years on the Knox County Commission. In the past, he has been part owner in a sign company called Sign Enterprise & Design. He currently owns a company called Sign Up of America. It is quite interesting that a guy that has served for 20 years, owns the company that produces signs would make a mistake on his own signs.

Sources called me over the past couple of weeks to tell me about the signs and they tell me that for about the last 4 - 8 years he continues to put these signs up, evidently he stores them for four years and then puts them back out and it shows.

What is so intriguing about his signs? you ask. He has Commissioner printed as Commmissioner. It is not just one sign, it is nearly every 4 x 4 and 4 x 2. Remember, the candidate is ultimately responsible. He approved the design before being printed, but better yet, he is in the sign business. This should be Sign Business 101.

I had to see the signs to believe it and sure enough the sixth district is littered with signs that appear to have been completed by a pre-schooler or better yet by the kid sitting in the corner of the classroom with the dunce hat.

I count about 26 errors in punctuation, style, grammatical usage, and sentence construction. That's an average of at least 6 per paragraph.

Since we're pointing out silly things . . .

"This morning the Brian's Blog wife and the youngest Brian's Blog son and I arrived at the Downtown West Early Voting site. The youngest Brian's Blog son and I cast my votes in the TN Republican Primary and the County General election"

Uh, why doesn't he just write: "My wife, youngest son, and I"?   It's not like he is trying to maintain anonymity here.

Oh, and since we're talking about Brian's Blog, we shouldn't overlook the latest Katherine Harris news.  She's just weeks from becoming the next great US Senator.
