In quick, unanimous action following a brief presentation by KTSC's lawyer, the KTSC board accepted Gloria Ray's retirement, approving a settlement agreement that includes three months severance and a mutual release of all claims, including the $96,000 KTSC previously said Ray had to repay.

According to their lawyer, KTCS's alternative would have been termination with cause, but Ray would arbitrate and ask for prorated pay, vacation and bonus pay worth approx. $200,000. There would be a separate court action regarding $96,000. There would also be attorney's fees. Termination without cause would involve three months severance, plus prorated bonuses and vacation worth $200,000. KTSC's attorney recommended accepting Gloria Ray's proposed settlement.

Severance?

I don't remember hearing that. I heard retirement effective today and no money due in either direction...

Thought sure I heard that, but news sources aren't reporting it so I guess not.
