Conspiracy theorists will have a field day with this one! It reads like a mystery thriller and involves some very high-profile people. In this Truthout article Amy Goodman reports on the circumstances surrounding Connell and his connection to multiple potential election frauds. She interviews Mark Crispin Miller, a professor of media culture and communication at New York University, the author of several books, including Loser Take All: Election Fraud and the Subversion of Democracy, 2000-2008.

Amy Goodman: A top Republican internet strategist who was set to testify in a case alleging election tampering in 2004 in Ohio has died in a plane crash. Mike Connell was the chief IT consultant to Karl Rove and created websites for the Bush and McCain electoral campaigns. He also set up the official Ohio state election website reporting the 2004 presidential election returns.

And this is why Mark Crispin Miller and Amy Goodman are justly consigned to the political ghetto of the wild-eyed left.

(IMNSHO, this "some people say" journalism-by-innuendo is better left on vehicles like Fox News.)

Some people say that, but I like to hear all weird theories

I agree that these kinds of columns juice up the wild-eyed ones, but I can't really say I wish they didn't exist. I don't have any newspaper source I consider one-hundred percent reliable, honest, totally factual and fair. I like to make up my own mind about things and for that I usually desire a wide range of opinions from a whole spectrum of people. This article did make me realize there are still some pretty intense investigations going on about fraud in past elections.I'd kind of forgotten about that.

Also, wasn't it TruthOut that had the incontrovertible proof that Karl Rove was about to be indicted in re. the Valerie Plame affair, and we waited, and we waited, and nothing every came of it? (Sort of like Drudge and the MO "whitey" video.)

(Sort of like the insinuation that the Vince Foster suicide was anything but, and at the hands of Hillary Clinton, no less.)

Yes, but we do so love our petty amusements.

Oh, sure - Rove's a knee-crawling, mouth-breathing political brute, a trickster nonpareil. Wouldn't it be fun to believe that he's a murderer as well? INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW.

Well

As he supported, encouraged and enabled the actions in Iraq, torture, etc., I think one could rightly say he is a murderer.

But the header was about the scurrilous rumors that Turd Blossom had one of his own whacked.

Election fraud is one thing. Murder for hire is another.

Ah, yes. I see now. Headers that consist of only three or four copied words do avoid any confusion. You'll have to forgive me if I drop this now. With all due respect, an endless defense of my decision to post this or a continued discussion about headers seems a bit silly to me.

No more silly than breathless commentary of the conspiracy to down planes containing GOP computer geeks in order to obstruct justice.

I'd rather that KV not turn into the lefty equivalent of Little Green Footballs, thanks very much.
