The HHS Sec. is pushing to Make Rural America Healthy again by proving less providers and more AI.

An estimated $137 billion in Medicaid dollars will no longer be available to rural areas over the next decade due to cuts from this administration's bb bill.

For some reason they are promoting a promised one-time $50 billion injection for innovation as an alternate solution.

They suggest "AI nurses could save dying rural hospitals. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator said robots could give ultrasounds to women and touted how AI avatars could help

...rural health providers are worried that much of it is being oversold.
...
The distribution of the new funds also did not target states with high death rates among their rural populations.

“States with the lowest rural mortality (Hawaii, Massachusetts, Colorado) received more than twice the per-rural-resident funding as states with the highest rural mortality,”

“I don’t feel like anything should be done without having clear oversight on it."
