Shannondale facilities raise fees as organization fights on to overcome financial losses
... [Scott Phillips, the CEO of Presbyterian Homes of Tennessee] said the company lost money in both 2021 and 2022, along with most of the healthcare industry. He said the COVID-19 pandemic caused many companies in healthcare to lost money.

He said the company is looking for a partner to help "capture the economies of scales that a larger organization can bring to us." He said a partner could lower the cost of acquiring goods or service, while also bringing resources, knoweldge and technology that could help the nonprofit.

He also said the company is looking to sell its Health Care Center (nursing home or skilled nursing facility).

Then, in Blount County, Blount Memorial hopes to sell MorningView Village, Transitional Care Center

Blount Memorial has been having some financial problems and disputes with Blount County government administration. In October, 2022, Blount Memorial announced the sale of the Springbrook Wellness Center. Blount County government administrators prevented the sale.

"The move is meant to provide BMH with “a cash infusion,” hospital CEO Harold Naramore said in a video posted to BMH’s YouTube channel. He said that the sale forms part of a strategy meant to help BMH continue operating as an independent community hospital."

Healthcare is a tough business. Elder care is an even tougher business.
