Hmmm... Outgrowing WFP is not quite the same as changing the "focus on West Knox families and a different demographic."

Maybe they thought at WFP they were more preaching to the choir?

I, too, would appreciate a closer venue. Not that Pellissippi is that much further for me to go than downtown, I really like events at the WFP. The more events held at the WFP the more likely somone won't get the idea to fill it with condos.

Over the years, this event has grown from attracting a couple of thousand attendees in Concord Cove Park to being one of the premier environmental festivals in the Southeast at the World’s Fair Park-- in 2007, attendance reached thirteen thousand! After outgrowing our previous venue at World's Fair Park, EarthFest in 2008 has moved locations to Pellissippi State Technical Community College.

I asked them about that and a rep. told me they wanted to focus on West Knox families and a different demographic. I wonder if there will be shuttles, there was when it was held at Concord Park. I wish it was at WFP again. I assume the Hummer crowd needs more education and the downtown crowd is already more Earth friendly.

It would be nice if events to celebrate the earth were more accessible by more earth friendly means. For many, Pellissippi is a long drive to a modern sprawled-out, pedestrian hostile area.

I wonder if their celebration will include encouragement to drive less.
