Looks like Russ McBee's letter worked and we're finally getting some rain. We got about an inch and a half yesterday evening, with more expected today and later in the week.

Spits and Pisses
I didn't get a single drop of rain yesterday. Today, I got a couple of spits.
Honestly, I'm tired of the spits and pisses from the heavens. I'd love to see a deluge.
you got rain....
We were in Maryville during that downpour. We headed home just because we were concerned what that much rain would do to our parched land. Once again, the northwestern part of Blount County did not get any decent rain. It sprinkled here. Again.
We have had less than three inches in the past three months. The dairy herd down the road is having hay trucked into the fields. What will happen when their water runs out is a different matter.
I am happy for you all who got rain but out here at the Lazy K we feel like we are still in NewMexico or California. Yesterday a huge trapdoor spider went running across what used to be our lawn. The fact that they look so much like tarantulas sure made me feel like we are still living in the southwest...
