I wonder if it has anything to do with this?

Maybe someone reminded him that he said this:

"I am prepared to filibuster, if necessary, any Supreme Court nominee who would turn back the clock on a womans right to choose, on civil rights and individual liberties, and on the laws protecting workers and the environment."

I agree with that. The Dems

Heh. I agree with that. Where did that guy go?

Now, the Dems have given them Roberts. Now the Rs are tyring to push the limits. They will argue, well, elect a D for president and you can nominate whoever you want. It's kinda hard to argue with that. In other words, Alito is all Kerry's fault to start with!

But seriously, I wonder if the Ds will have the guts to do it? And if they do, is it worth triggering the nuclear option? And if this isn't, what is? And is Alito even worth the Rs triggering the nuclear option so close to 2006 when things could go the other way and it comes back to bite them. It's all so confusing.

Roberts' dissent in the

Roberts' dissent in the Oregon Right to Die case demonstrates a disdain for the "states rights" philosophy most conservatives favor. He's a big government kind of guy, and Alito's going to be even worse. Get ready for (at least) three years of Imperial Presidency.

The modern GOP -- getting government off your back, and putting it under your bed!

Get ready for (at least) three years of Imperial Presidency.

With Scalia, Thomas, Roberts, and Alito? I'm just praying for the health & well-being of Justice Stevens. Either that, or for Thurgood Marshall to come back from the grave. Since it is a lifetime appointment, someone would have to get bumped.
