I think it may have had more
I think it may have had more to do with east coast airports starting to shut down this morning. But whatever, Trump's five-week shutdown accomplished precisely nothing. We were here before Christmas.

Location, location, location
Trump has debilitating narcissistic personality disorder. This is about getting to do the State of the Union address from the House chamber. In this case, Nancy Pelosi has the keys to the one thing Trump craves more than anything: everyone’s attention. Doing that speech “on location” is worth more than $5.7 billion to Donald Trump.

Also, Roger Stone. Took his arrest right off the front page.
Sending a dozen heavily armed
Sending a dozen heavily armed FBI agents (apparently working for free God bless 'em) to arrest an old man in his pajamas with CNN on the scene was a nice touch.
I guess they were right. With Trump as President, we ARE living in a fascist police state.
Well.
(in reply to Knoxoasis)
I'm not sure you understand what we're dealing with here. Stone is a major long-term rat-fucker (with Nixon's image tattooed on his back) and we're getting very close to hundreds of millions of dollars in oligarch (foreign and domestic) money.
I trust these guys to know what they might be up against. (To their credit, some were working without pay.) And it's not like they gave him a rough ride as though he were a POC.

It's about the search, not the arrest
(in reply to Knoxoasis)
The FBI did a pre-dawn arrest with a dozen agents because they didn't want to give Stone a chance to destroy evidence. The far more important thing they did Friday morning was to execute simultaneous search warrants at all of Stone's properties:
