With the Tea/GOP in control of the US House, and controlling numerous states, and all of them yelling for austerity by cutting social safety nets (often to give their corporate buddies a break) we are now seeing signs that the Tea/GOP is literally trying to destroy this country (emphasis mine).

The Labor Department reported on Friday that the nation added 54,000 nonfarm payroll jobs last month, after an increase of about 220,000 jobs in each of the three previous months. May’s job gain was about a third of what economists had been forecasting.

The unemployment rate ticked up to 9.1 percent from 9.0 percent in April.

The economy clearly just hit a brick wall,” said Paul Ashworth, chief United States economist at Capital Economics. “It’s almost as if it came to a complete standstill.

And here's the thing, while the jobs outlook was on the uptick, the Tea/GOP was taking credit. Yet, not a single one of the bills they presented in state legislatures or the US House has been a jobs-creating bill, no it's all about cutting help to the poor and working poor. P~~~~

Steve Benen nails it:

It’s a nice little scam Republicans have put together: when more jobs are being created, it’s proof they’re right; when fewer jobs are being created, it’s proof Obama’s wrong. Heads they win; tails Dems lose.

Bottom line is, austerity isn't working for we the people.
