My Glen Campbell story

When I was pretty young, my father was hired to play in Glen Campbell's backup band, back when he had just hit it big and started playing large venues. He had a core of players that traveled with him everywhere, but used a larger set up for the big shows in cities like Atlanta and Nashville, and that's when my father would join the band for the southern part of the tour.

So for at least a couple of years running, whenever the tour my father was on ended up in Atlanta, my mother would pile my sister and I in the car and drive down to meet him. Then we would go watch the show from back stage. I don't have a lot of memories from that age, but I remember those trips and those concerts and meeting Glen Campbell (once, briefly).

Those are good memories.
