KNS Letters to the Editor: How about bailing out taxpaying citizens?
I’m not running for any office; maybe I should, but this is my plan.Give every U.S. citizen $1 million each. I think that’s about 3 million people.
If my high school math serves me right that would come to $3 billion.
Yes, maybe he should run for office. As a Republican. He'd fit right in.

New math
That is KCP math. Also know as the "new math". Wait until you see them do division.
Get over it
What in the world does this have to do with KCP? Nothing, absolutely nothing. You lost, get over it.
My high school math says
My high school math says that $700B divided by 301M is $2,385 per person.
Bah! Of course, we could put in restrictions, like kids don't get nuthin' and maybe we oldsters would get more.
My follow-up, as posted at KNS
Okay, there's, roughly, three hundred million people in the United States.
One million dollars for each of them would be 300 trillion dollars. That's several times the national debt.
If we took the 700 billion dollar bailout, and divided it between every citizen, that would be roughly $2,333.33 each. A decent chuck of change to most people, but not life changing except to the poorest people.
Even if the letter writer's math was correct, giving each citizen a million dollars would lead to instantaneous, ruinous inflation. Yeah, you'd have a million dollars... and could spend it on a latte at Starbucks.

counting fail. policy fail.

Wowzers
I followed your link, read the content, and felt my faith in humanity decrease by about 35%.
He THINKS it's about 3
He THINKS it's about 3 million people? Too lazy to look it up? Or to think about the fact that 200,000 people VOTED in Knox County alone this time?
Geez.
Honestly...
... I know KNS prints a wide range of letters, but why would they print one that's so blatantly stupid, unless whoever selects the letters to be printed was quietly snickering and saying "lets make this guy look like an idiot publicly"?
