Should the gas industry pay a price if over 1600 reports of price gouging are proven accurate? What about small business retailers who live and die by daily traffic to their stores? Should they be able to take action against these profiteers?

Are these alleged declines

Are these alleged declines in sales a local phenomenon? If they are nationwide, they are almost surely due to stock market declines and worries over the stability of savings, pensions, etc.

in anecdotes from local

in anecdotes from local retailers and restaurants, sales have declined sharply since Knoxville gas prices spiked last week.

Interestingly, another friend reported seeing Knox county school buses at the Pilot station on Sutherland. If Pilot has been $0.50 higher than other retailers, are our school bus contractors getting the best prices available?
