I meant to post something before the Knoxville Writers' Guild Summer Workshops got started, but -- alas -- I didn't. There are still two weeks of classes available. This week's sessions include:
--The ABCs of Marketing Poetry by Carole Ann Borges
--Creative Nonfiction for Beginners by Pam Strickland
--Three sessions on fiction writing by Cyn Mobley
--Poetry for Beginners: Letting Go by Carolyn Scarbrough
--Tell the Story Only You Can Tell by Ina Hughs
--Inner Pilgrimage by Doris Ivie (Magnolia Street Campus)
--Performance Poetry by Kali Meister
Next week's sessions include Katie Allison Granju on our favorite topic: blogging.
Writing and marketing poetry, crafting fiction, telling one’s own story,
and performing poetry are among classes to be offered at the Tenth Annual
Knoxville Writers’ Guild Summer Workshops this week.
These low-cost, one-evening short courses that cut across a variety of
genres are being offered jointly by the Knoxville Writers’ Guild and
Pellissippi State Technical Community College. The classes all are offered
Monday through Thursday evenings July 7-24. All classes except one will be
held at the Hardin Valley campus.
Participants must sign up in advance but can easily do so at the KWG
website. To register or get detailed class information, visit
Link... [1]. You can even register the day of the
class. The tuition ranges from $20 to $48 per class. KWG members receive
a discount.
