Ok, Let's say you are the State Chairwoman of the Tennessee Republican Party, Robin Smith, and you were appointed to the Tennessee Human Rights Commission. (Let's set aside the situational oxymoron of a Republican serving on the Human rights commission. We can joke about that later)
So the Tennessee Republican party has been the source of smear, with racial and ethnic overtones, after smear against Barack and Michele Obama, and your appointed term is up. The Governor traditionally sends out requests for names to fill your seat and may even reappoint you, if you've done a good job. You haven't. People point that out. Somebody else gets appointed. Someone with actual, HELLO, credentials that make them highly qualified for the position.
Fair enough.
So you, Robin Smith, send an email to the Governor complaining about it. That email gets referred to in a Nashville newspaper and you go into ballistic whining mode all over again about how You are being smeared and the proof is that your email got into the hands of a blogger. What? Are discredited Republican bloggers the only ones who get to smear people? And anyway...How is telling the truth smearing you?
You, as Chair of the Republican Party, have some choices...
A. You whine at the top of your email address that everybody is out to smear you, foaming at the mouth with mock indignation and hope that no one brings up the fact that the organization you head has itself been churning out smears on a near daily basis.
B. Try to stamp your feet and whine so much that no one will notice that you are so stupid that you didn't even know that any correspondence with the Governor is "PUBLIC" information and that "private" correspondence you complain about being made public, was already public from the instant you clicked "send".
C. Accuse the Governor of calling you a racist, and Claim you were "targeted for being a conservative, Christian Republican"
D. All of the above!

This is hilarious, actually. My vote for stupidest/funniest claim was her "They hate me because I'm a creationist" line.
Great stuff in the comments at Kleinheiders, too. I love Liberals. We got Snark!
Friend of mine saw her speak
Friend of mine saw her speak at the local GOP "Unity Dinner" last week, and commented that for a 'traditional values' lady, she's awfully, umm, butch.
Just sayin'...
