Hello KnoxView.com. My name is Jon Katsiros. I am running for State Representative in district 18. I am writing to introduce myself to everyone. I have lived in this area for 21 years. I went to Norwood, Northwest, and West High School. I also attended South College for paralegal studies, and the University of Tennessee for Political Science. I have worked ever since I was 16. I am now in the Window Replacement business. I have however took time off to run for office. I am giving this race my full attention and energy. I am running for office, because I feel that the people of district 18 want a change. I am an average person, just like the people of the district, and know that I can best represent them. I am out here working everyday for the people. I am knocking on doors and talking to people. I am here to answer any questions, and listen to anything that the people have to say. I will be a representative for the people, and "A representative you can be proud of." I look forward to your support and your vote on August 7. Again, feel free to ask or say anything you like, I am all ears. Thank you.

The Scoobie School of Grammar
"Have took" right back at ya, Jon.
Seems to me you're an alpha male -- that's alphabetically poised above Leadbetter to scoop off a few of the anti-Stacey votes. Just saying. -- s.
"Alpha male" - I like it.
"Alpha male" - I like it.
Thanks.
Thanks for correcting my grammar. I sometimes get going so fast and miss somethings. The bad part was I reread the post. Well, that shows I am just human. Many people would describe me as an alpha male. I am poised between the two, however I am out knocking on doors everyday. I will receive some of the anti Stacy votes, but I have been earning a great number also. From Republicans, Democrats, and Independents. Thanks again, and look forward to more replies.
While we're proofreading,
While we're proofreading, 'somethings' really should be 'some things' but I guess you need these little somethings in order to compete with Stacey.

Political Philosophy
I am curious about the political philosophy of a person running for state office Jon. Do you base your political decisions on a platform of beliefs? If so what are they? And who are some of your favorite politicians and why?
I am from Tennessee and have been thinking of moving back. However, after reading the Not news Sentinel online, and seeing how major national and global news is non-existent or Occumed down to opinion, as well as the colorful local officials and I wonder if there is intelligent life there. I hope you can show me there is. Thanks
News
I hope you don't base your opinion of our town on the snooze sentinel. Sandra's paper, the Halls Shopper, has the best political reporting. Rikki's paper, the hellbender press, is good for environmental news. For news of the world at large, I pick up a copy of the NY times. A sunday edition will last me 2 weeks, compared to 2 minutes for a typical sentinel.
I believe there is intelligent life here, though some of us speak in the local patois. If you were raised here you are probably bilingual and should do fine.
Good questions of teh candidate, Robert.

Sandra,
does not have a paper anymore. She receives a paycheck from E.W. Scripps, the owner of the Sentinel. She punches a clock and is an employee at will just like Jamie Satterfield and Rebecca Ferrar.
Dear Brian;
Dear Brian;
If you insist on attempting to use the English language to communicate, why don't you take five minutes and read up on comma usage?
http://owl.english.purdue.edu/handouts/grammar/g_comma.html
The following example, would not only be correct, but would be more understandable, than, sprinkling random commas, into your sentences as I, have done in this sentence.
"Sandra, who does not have a paper anymore, receives a paycheck from E.W. Scripps, the owner of the Sentinel."
This modification would not only improve your writing style, but would make you harder to ID when you are posting anonymously.
TTFN,
B. Bean
and you're a Republican...
who must be a friend of Randy's, as you're on the trusted user list while others like me, are not..Oh well..smile...
I guess you didn't know this but Republicans are obsolete so I would suggest you change parties, Republicans are only going to be in office in this nation's backwater places..lol....after the November elections, unless Bush decides to spring an October surprise by attacking Iran or some other nonsensical move.
Nothing personal though....
question
Will you support the Scenic Vistas Act when it comes up again next year?
Pop Quiz
Thanks, Bean, I guess ... but frankly which is worse (for a political boss wannabe)...
1. Failing to win reelection after one term.
2. Taking over a party with almost $20K in the till and leaving it after one term with $312.
3. Misplacing a few commas?

I've heard it said you can
I've heard it said you can wash them in a dishwasher, but really, keyboards are VERY cheap. I'd just replace it if the coffee has affected the keyboard's performance.
I use...
Falcon Dust-Off. The original compressed gas duster...available at Best Buy and other fine electronics stores. I buy the economy-size XL cans. A few puffs of compressed air will dry it right out.
And I finally installed a spit shield over my monitor.
You should probably invest in one of those rubber keyboard shields as well...the kind that fit over the keys and are clear.

I need to just refrain from reading Hornbackian posts while drinking coffee . . or tea, or cocoa, or sangria, or G&T.
