Killing people to prove to people that killing people is wrong seems dissonant to me.

We've hard the argument that the death penalty discourages murder but the statistics prove that is absolutely wrong.

"Good Christians" support the death penalty but then proclaim the "sanctity of life" which brings another wave of dissonance.

"Pro Life" anti-abortion activists tell us abortion is murder and then tacitly support capital punishment for doctors and women who have the procedure. Do I sense more dissonance here?

"Patriots" support invasive war and the killing of thousands and then claim the mantle of righteousness even though such violates every tenet of "just war" theory.

Then we have Terry Schiavo. Enough said on that?

And someone please tell me what the hell is wrong with someone of sound mind and failing body deciding when they will expire?
