Could this get any crazier?
In the story, Finch claims the faked receipts were created without her knowledge, and faxed in by the UPS store worker.
Letter from Finch's attorney is here. In it, she also claims:
- She hasn't responded to resignation story due to 'gag order' from Ragsdale administration
- Arms handed Finch a Club LeConte application and ordered her to do county business at the club
- AKA sorority trips were pre-approved by Ragsdale/Arms
I love the part at the end where they ask Ragsdale to seize accrued vacation for the "other white males" who have questionable receipts (Arms, Van DeVate, Ragsdale).
Think your job sucks? How about being a lame duck Law Director and having to deal with all of this?
Update: I found a copy of the faked Kinko's receipts. My goodness, that has to be one of the worst fakes I've ever seen. A Kinko's corporate receipt isn't even close. And I'm pretty sure the City County building isn't in zip 37919, since tht's where I live. It would be nice, though, if they'd move the building for those 1 a.m. meetings.

The cast of characters
The cast of characters involved in Knox County government couldn't be improved upon by central casting if they were in production for a comical farce of a sitcom. So, no resignation by Finch, she was under orders to hang out at Club LeConte, and all those sorority trips were just AOK with the bosses. And, somebody at Kinko's just decided to help her out with fake receipts without her knowledge. I'll buy that. Sure I will.
And I see where the School Board send Robert Bratton off to Boston. I guess that's because he can't visit some of the schools around here. Maybe the county can hire the firm from the show "Boston Legal" if any lawsuits arise from the trip. It's all Hollywood stuff I tell ya.
zip code
That's how WBIR found the other vendor and tracked down the source of faked receipts.
RB in Boston! I'd like to see him try to hit on "Clarise" - that Boston Legal cracks me up!
Buffooned
I don't understand the "UPS store" involvement, since Kinko's is a division of UPS's competitor.
I also wonder if they're claiming that the Mayor/Arms approved of Finch using non-profit facilities under her authority to entertain her sorority.
Unfortunately, nobody will believe Ragsdale/Arms either
These clowns have major credibility issues themselves and they've knocked down all the fall guys they could along the way and now there are none left except themselves.
Finch has no case and Ragsdale has no defenses and no credibility. The only losers are the county taxpayers that have been financing this fiasco for 6 years now and the budget increases and the tax increases are coming sooner rather than later.
This whole situation is
This whole situation is nothing more than a soap opera.
If I recall last night's news story correctly, how does a "UPS store employee" afford the likes of Greg Isaacs? Then again, why would they even need the likes of Greg Isaacs? Something sure smells fishy here, then again the whole situation reeks. We have a "UPS store employee" faking FedEx/Kinko's receipts. Huhh......?????
I think
I think one or more of the buffoons is/are lying.
Take Care, Be Good and don't play in the street!
