KNS: Lowe to leave Trustee's Office after 33 years

Mike Lowe, who lost his bid for county property assessor in the Feb. 5 primary, is leaving the Trustee's Office to go into real estate development.

I guess if I wanted to leave

I guess if I wanted to leave a year ago to work on building a real estate development company, I'd run for the four-year property assessor office, too. That seems logical. Give me a break.

It's a mad, mad, mad, mad

It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world in Knox Co. gubm't, so (to borrow from my son's phrase when he was but a wee lad) "watch an eye" on Fred Sisk if he wins the trustee race in August. Mike and his lucrative political connections may not be going away just yet.

Lowe's presence was become a campaign issue

On the street I get the impression that Lowe's continued presence in the trustees office was becoming a liability that Freddie Sisk couldn't manage as it became/and may continue to be a campaign issue.

Sisk is painted with the same brush that painted the rest of the ballot crowd that got tossed this month and he doesn't need to be painted by people working in his office.

Word to the opposition: Why didn't Sisk get rid of Lowe earlier? Will Sisk pledge in his campaign not to rehire him if elected? If Freddie gets beat in August and Lowe can't come back, will Lowe lawyer up and claim he was forced out because of the pending election?

Pass the popcorn and the junior mints Ferguson!
