Georgiana Vines (I thought she retired?) has the latest development in the South Knox county commission race. It seems a certain Republican candidate in the 9th district owes some back taxes [1]. Actually, a lot of back taxes. (Registration required.)
Sandra Clark has a glowing tribute [2] to now term-limited County Commissioner Mary Lou Horner, who suspended her campaign last Friday. Quote: "Well, at least it took the state Supreme Court to beat Mary Lou."
And Michael Silence reports on the fallout expected [3] from the recent court ruling that Knox County is illegal.
Early Voting starts Wednesday...
P.S. The Knoxville News Sentinel published their Knox County Voter Guide in Sunday's paper. The online version is available here [4]. Not to be too harsh re. our blog pal Michael Silence who worked on it, but "favorite movie?" "Favorite TV show?" What's up with that? Also, candidates who are term limited are noted in a sidebar, but there is no indication on the individual profiles of candidates still on the ballot who are no longer eligible for for office.
