RedState is your usual GOP presser repeat site with the odd racist post tossed in. So they are in the can financially and have had to pass the hat. No problems there. It happens all the time and if you like a site you should advertise on them or pony up when they ask. Now read this and try not to laugh too hard. That's right. They used Scoop and since the developer seems to be a Libruhl, it's costing them money somehow, because of the developers' political bent. Good grief. So they switched to Drupal. Well, that tears it and proves that RedState is unAmerican(tm). Drupal is a Dutch program. Can you believe it's from Holland?*

Passing the hat

Democratic Underground passes the hat all the time. I hope this doesn't mean they are in trouble financially.

Clenis

Well at least they didn't blame the mighty Clenis.

I think my version of Drupal

I think my version of Drupal came from Blount County.

Definitely leans left.

Parent Company

The Red State parent company, Eagle Publishing, posted revenues of 6.8 million last year.
I guess loyal GOP apparatchik salaries are quite high.
I don't know what they were thinking using evil, non-capitalist, free software to begin with. It's unMerikan!

Django is BSD and I bet they

Django is BSD and I bet they bought a license for Ellington, which ain't cheap. Django did come out of industry so I guess that covers their ground ideologically. It's funny. If you had to choose between food that tastes good, is nutritive, is easy to prepare and is free or food that tastes good, isn't terribly nutritive, requires a trained cook and costs money, which would you choose? Your criteria would be political ideology? Not terribly practical.
