As has been reported the state legislature, according to the TBI didn't allocate enough money for the dna testing in the Johnia Berry bill, something Ron Ramsey one of the sponsors of the Johnia Berry act calls a "misunderstanding"...
Sad the legislature should waste our money on trivial things and fail to provide funds for things that serve and protect the citizens.
I hope they correct that error when the legislature comes back into session.
There are other things that need to be done, including some revisions of the TBI to allow them to establish a "cold case" squad and changes in medical examiner practices where autopsies should be done on all suspicious deaths. Those are things that need to be done to see that justice prevails in suspicious deaths and unsolved murders in this state.
