South Waterfront topic of two meetings

The City of Knoxville's consultants on the South Waterfront will present this week a refined version of the Vision Plan based on public comments received since the draft was unveiled in February.

The consultants will meet with the project's Oversight Committee - comprised of residents, business owners and other stakeholders - at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Small Assembly Room.

City Council will hold a workshop on the Vision Plan beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday in Room 549 of the City County Building.

Both meetings are open to the public.

I probably won't be able to make it. Maybe someone who does can file a report?

 Short Report.  When I

Short Report.  When I arrived shortly after 5:00pm, the door to the City County Building was locked.

End of Report

As I walked away after driving to town and paying to park, I couldn't help but think that it have been more convenient for the public if the meeting had been held in a public building with a large Community Room and free close by parking.

Yeah, I was pissed about

Yeah, I was pissed about this too. Fortunately, Rob Frost came along and I piggy backed on his entry card.

Please let Dave Hill (dhill@cityofknoxville.org) know you showed up and couldn't get in.

As for the workshop itself, not much to report. Council seems generally pleased with the consultant's work, and supportive.

The Oversight Committee meeting last night was a bit more substantive (and the C/C Bldg was NOT locked then) - I'll try to post on that tomorrow.
