President Karzi taking the wind of Bush's evil Iran sales pitch?

Yesterday during the Karzi/Bush press conference one question was asked that seemed to contradict Bush's recent inditements of Iran's role in the Middle East.

The reporter asked:

Q: President Karzai said yesterday that he believed Iran was playing a helpful role in Afghanistan. Was he able to convince you, in your meetings, that that was the case, or do you still have concerns about Iran's role?

It is important to note that Karzi had actually come here to tell Bush he thought that Iran was helping to stabilize Afghanistan. You could see the irritation on Bush's face when that question came up. Plus, he seemed to be stumbing over the simplest phrases, almost as if he was having trouble focusing or speaking. Basically, Bush looked terrible.

In spite of the fact that Karzi obviously believes Iran is not a disruptive element, Bush just went on as if someone had not just mentioned that fact.

"So I believe that it's in the interests of all of us that we have an Iran that tries to stabilize, not destabilize; an Iran that gives up its weapons ambitions. And therefore we're working to that end."

He also had trouble keeping up with the order of his talking points. he said, first, then secondly, then thirdly, then secondly again.

Occasionally he seemed to rally, but his whole demeanor during the press conference looked to me like he wanted nothing more than to run away, find a toilet, and throw up. Maybe something is wrong with Bush? He sure looked funny.
