At least according to the KNS. This editorial notes that the U.S. debt was $5.6 trillion and declining when Bush and the GOP took over, but after raising it four times in five years while spending like crazy and cutting taxes it's now at $9 trillion and growing.

And now, according to the editorial, it belongs to the Democrats in Congress, who will have to raise it again soon to pay the bills, and they also have to take the heat from the GOP for doing so.

This reminds me of the 2004 editorial endorsing Bush, which laid out all the reasons why he was a failure and a bad president, but went on to say you should vote for him anyway.

I guess I'm just not smart enough to understand all the subtle nuance behind this kind of reasoning.

Yeah, saw the headline and

Yeah, saw the headline and decided not to read it. Democrats cleaning up after the Republicans. Geez, what a concept. We're going to need a Republican Welfare Fund for these types of clean ups when the Repubs have control that goes out of control.

KNS editorials are in

KNS editorials are in general, pathetic. Not just that they often come to conclusions not warranted by the arguments they lay out, but the editorials are often just a cut and paste job of former news stories with a one paragraph intro and a one paragraph conclusion tacked on.

I really respect some of the KNS reporters. The editorial writers, not so much.

That's the problem with the Murdoch deal. The WSJ reporting is really quite good, as opposed to their op-eds which can't get any more Murdoched than they already are. Oh, well. There's still McClatchy for reliable news.

Anyway, this reminds me of the YouTube question during the Dem debates where the guy sang about Dems always raising taxes. That kind of BS always raises my blood pressure.

daze of our lives

Based on this editorial and the general tone on local Republican blogs, I believe the sand has run out of the top of their brains, and they need to stand on their head for a while to get thoughts flowing again.
