Harlyn Geronimo, great-grandson of the Geronimo, has written to George Bush asking for his help in returning the remains of his ancestor to his birthplace in New Mexico. The remains are supposedly buried in this cemetery on the Fort Sill reservation in Central Oklahoma, although there is some controversy as to whose bones actually occupy the grave.

He [Mr. Geronimo] figures since the president's grandfather, Prescott Bush, was allegedly one of those who helped steal the bones in 1918, the president would want to help return them to their rightful place.

There has been no reply from the White House.

Ancestors remains are being held hostage everywhere

Museums and Universities all over the country have these remains. They consider them important scientific material and therefore refuse to give them back to the descendants who sometimes have a strong need to bury them according to native traidtions. This is a very unbiased article about the history of this and some of the conflicts.

At least they're not

At least they're not underwater, like the Cherokees under Tellico Lake.

They put Geronimo in jail

They put Geronimo in jail down South
Where he couldn't look a gift horse in a mouth
Sergeant, Sergeant don't you feel
There's something wrong with your automobile
Warden, Warden, listen to me
Be brave and set Geronimo free
Governor, Governor, 'aint it strange
You never see a car on the Indian range

Oh boys take me back
I wanna ride in Geronimo's Cadillac
Oh boys I wanna see it for real
I wanna ride in Geronimo's automobile
Take me, take me, take me back
I wanna ride in Geronimo's [Cadillac]

Warden, Warden, don't you know
The prisoners 'aint got no place to go
It took ol'Geronimo by storm
They took the badges from his uniform
Jesus told me and I believe it's true
The redmen are in the sunset too
They stole their land and they won't give it back
And they sent Geronimo a Cadillac

Oh boys take me back
I wanna ride in Geronimo's Cadillac
Oh boys I wanna see it for real
I wanna ride in Geronimo's automobile
Take me, take me, take me back
I wanna ride in Geronimo's [Cadillac]

If Geronimo's bones really

If Geronimo's bones really are stashed somewhere in the Skull and Bones Club's mausoleum, I would think the ancestors under Tellico Lake would more accessible.
