Over here in South Knoxville (Timberlake/Lakemoor area) we have a family of red foxes that decided to go out and play in the sunshine at about 10 a.m. this morning.

A few more photos...

Six pups and one really skinny mother fox.

I'd caught glimpses of something creeping around out there for the past week or so (and the dog was slightly more interested in the edge of the woods than usual) but I figured it was the woodchucks we usually have this time of year.

Much cuter than skunks.

The only way I know that our fox is out strolling is when the crows call out an alert.

They Grow Fast

The kits are getting big! They've been coming out in groups of two to four every morning between 9:30 and 10:00 and usually again in the evening. I haven't seen the mother since last Wednesday--and on that day it looked like (through binoculars) she may have had some kind of minor wound on her neck. Maybe she tangled with a barbed wire fence or some other animal.

Got a few more photos last night...

Another photo here as he started getting suspicious of the camera flash and the idiot crawling across the yard on his stomach.

Wow

Those are great shots (especially the one you linked to -- nice depth of field)!
