So, now you're comparing me
So, now you're comparing me to some homophobic moron?
How do you figure that?
And my site thegunblogs.com is also open to any posters, who aren't spammers.
Can the Brady Campaign post there? Maybe they can. I don't know because I don't read it. At least not since I spent time researching and answering all of your questions to help you set it up.
As for the other posts you cite, there is a relevance and level of maturity to the humor and social commentary on those topics that readers of this site apparently relate to. Maybe they don't at your site, I don't know.
And surely you aren't suggesting that the U.T. Women's Basketball program hasn't had an impact on the region or a profound influence on women's sports in general? (Sorry there weren't any boob or blowjob jokes or anything for you to pick out.)
Anyway, I'm very sorry you see it all this way with regard to how I am trying to run this site, and that all this has become such a confrontational issue for you and #9.
All the best to the both of you.
How do you figure that? Then
Then what's the point of the reference?
Sure.
And I thanked you for answering my questions. Still owe you a bottle of your choice for that, btw.
I don't see it any particular way. It's your site and you decide what happens here. I'm just voicing my displeasure in your decision.
What, you gotta problem with boob and blowjob jokes? And, seriously, one boob joke in however many posts? Well, and the masturbation jokes, so you may have a point.

So, now you're comparing me to some homophobic moron? Not even similar.
I'm fully aware who owns this site and you can do whatever you want with it and that doesn't bother me. What does is that you asked me to participate and I did. Now, I guess that participation is not wanted. I'll oblige.
I have comments open to anyone who is not a spammer. And my site thegunblogs.com is also open to any posters, who aren't spammers.
Yeah, I know. Since other very important societal issues are clearly front page worthy.
ETA: and the fact my post was not political at all and was just an attempt provide levity and add some content on a day when no one else was posting kinda bugged me too.

Geez, it's a admittedly silly blog post. So Randy moved it off the front page - big deal. Sheesh.
Too much testosterone in the air today.

Thanks for the assist. I'll try not to spend so long on the post of the day in the future.
My .02
My, my, bloggers hate being edited. Personally, I could use one and I've known it for since high school.
Ms. Copeland had been a teen beauty queen but was now my American Lit. teacher. She was instructing on composition and one day, wrote one of my sentences on the chalkboard. I was very proud. Then she started circling phrases and modifiers within the sentence. She turned back around to the class and asked, "You know what that is? Dead Wood."
You guys keep arguing with
You guys keep arguing with the proprietors of this website about whose website it is and what we should "allow" or not.
By your definition of "open", we should allow, no, invite with open arms, stuff like this:
Sorry, not going to happen.
I'm even more sorry that it seems the "open" part of "open, progressive community" now needs serious review because this keeps coming up over and over and over again.
I'm not aware of any other local blog with such a "liberal" policy that allows anyone to register and start posting blog entries to the front page. (Does your website allow that, SayUncle?)
Fortunately, 99% of the participants are responsible posters most of the time.
Unfortunately, it only takes a few inappropriate posts to spoil the blog such that folks coming here looking for mature, serious discussion roll their eyes and hit the back button.
Before I hit the submit button to launch this site a little over a year ago, the other proprietor and I had a long discussion about what it was going to be. My original concept was totally open, conservative or liberal, left or right, right or wrong. But after working through it, we decided that conservatives have plenty of outlets in the region, not to mention a tendency to try to dominate any conversation in any venue, so this outlet would be different. Thus insertion of the one word, "progressive".
I guess we will now have to talk about the "open" part.
Thanks guys!
(I forgot. What was this thread about? Oh, yeah, super heros who suck. Sorry to veer off-topic. My bad.)

Yeah, but you could have just moved it down the page and not off.
It does get old seeing only certain people get this treatment. I don't get the progressiveness.
It does get old seeing only
It does get old seeing only certain people get this treatment. I don't get the progressiveness.
Well, if you scroll down the front page, you'll get a sense of the tone and what stuff the editor and publisher deems appropriate for the front page of a website that is trying to be somewhat serious most of the time (even you have one up there, I think, and of course the editor and publisher's posts are always front page worthy).
It's like if someone shows up at a Star Trek convention going on about U.S. foreign policy or the alternative minimum tax or something, the others aren't going to be all that interested in inviting them to their workshop on Klingon grammar and sentence structure. If somebody dressed up as Darth Vader shows up at a conference on public housing assistance or Medicare or something, they probably aren't going to be invited to give the keynote address.
At any rate, the back button works on most browsers if you don't like the made-up rules or the management's arbitrary and capricious enforcement of same. No one is forcing anyone to participate.
But like the sign at the corner bar says, "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone," and the other one that says "no shirt, no shoes, no service."
What, no Ant-Man?

No worries, the poll is
No worries, the poll is still there, still getting votes, still the top topic of discussion, and the link still works. And it is funny.
Maybe the next poll should be Battle of the Blount Co. Super Bloggers for Front Page Position? (We'd have to include Les, of course.)
P.S. You left out the Green Lantern. (What was his super power again?)
Well, I just spent several
Well, I just spent several hours researching and writing a serious report about the cable bill, and when I hit submit there's already a post about super heros that suck at the top of the page that takes up nearly half the page and pushes my post down the page where nobody will see it. But the poll about super heros who suck is still there for all to see and vote on in the left column under polls where the current polls live, and is currently the top topic of discussion, so there you go.
And another post in the
And another post in the open, progressive community gets bumped. On a slow friday, even.
