Those aren't loons! Those are those danged Roane County water chickens.

But don't even think about trying to eat one...They taste almost as bad as bald eagle.

Funny thing about these things...they hang around the old Walmart parking lot like it was a sand bar or something.

I need to get out on the lake and check out the loons before they head back too, unless it's too late. Can you see them at your place, Corvus?

In the last week I have seen more loons than ever - but they are super camera shy !! For some reason, however, I do not hear them cackling ??
