Bush shifts into full campaign mode President Bush, campaigning aggressively ahead of the high-stakes Nov. 7 elections, said Saturday Democrats should not be trusted to control Congress because they have no idea how to win in Iraq.
... and he does? Is he serious? Even if we were to "win". Claiming victory in a war that we shouldn't have been in in the first place, is not, in my opinion, winning a war. How many lives have been lost? How many lives have been altered because of serious injury? How many families are separated from each other because of this wrongful war? and when exactly are we to win this war? Oh yeah we already won it, back when "Mission was Accomplished" on an aircraft carrier, in the wrong ocean.
P.S.
Sorry for posting on the main page Bubba, I had promised myself to keep anything I had to say within the depths of your website, but I didn't see an appropriate spot to post it and I thought the heading was hilarious, not the war, just the heading.

Instead of constantly saying this war is wrong, how about you offer your own ideas. You may not like the war, maybe because you have your head in the sand about the world we live in, but until you come up with another strategy how about you just keep your mouth shut. GW has it right, you people really do not understand the state of the world we live in. 2500 French police officers were injured in the past year because of Islamic militantism, WHY BOTHER THE THE FRENCH!?!? Because the hatred is for all of the west and not just the Americans. This problem will not go away and none of your rhetoric offers and solutions so just be quiet and let the people who actually want to deal with the problems handle it.

The Iraq war is the cause of the increased militant attacks. The problem with your logic is that the people who want to deal with it, are not dealing with it in a sensible manner.
As far as my ideas... hmmm... First and far most, we would need to vote in the Democrats, nothing can be accomplished with the Republicans still in power. Second we should have an investigation to see if impeachment proceedings should transpire. That alone should bring unity to our allies, and also ease the fears our so=called enemies have of us. We also need to quit bragging about being the worlds only super power. How do you think that is being perceived by all the other countries of the world. I personally could care less if we were. We need to focus on taking care of the folks on our own soil, and quit trying to rule the world.
We should call in all top retired generals to have a round table discussion to assess the situation in Iraq and also Afghanistan, We need a leader in office who will listen to the expertise of these Generals, and not to the corporate leaders who are profiting from this war. One of the discussions I would insist on having is about finding the quickest possible way to bring our troops home safely, but I bet you'd find that the generals would feel the same way.
After a plan had been worked out and instigated, we should start a full investigation into why and how we let ourselves get into this mess to begin with, and see to it that it doesn't happen again. We would need to address the rules of the our Constitution that have been broken, and prosecute the guilty. If I'm not mistaken, just going to war against Iraq was a violation of our Constitution.
I personally would like to see the UN open a discussion with all countries involved including the top insurgence leaders, to see if we can reach a common ground about our differences, cause I'm still not fully sure that we have been hearing the full story.
That's about the best I can do, but I think you can find a lot of other Democrats, just on this site, with even better plans.
The nerve! I don't know why anyone should criticize a disastrous foreign policy without a detailed 5-step program to replace it. Type it up, get it peer reviewed, test it against another Islamic insurgency and then get back to us. In the mean time, take Mr. O'Reilly's advice and just Shut Up!

Totally agree, Ja.
Dubya has no idea about the promulgation of a war against Islamic fascist terrorists in Iraq. The Dems have got it right on this count: total, abject and unmitigated surrender is the only acceptable answer...on the part of the United States, of course.
In the meantime, you and I have just got to keep hoping that Muslim terrorists kill as many American soldiers as they possibly can in order to convince the American public that this war is hopeless and unwinnable and that power should be returned to our party as soon as possible.
Personally, I'm doing my part even as we speak. I've contacted several of France's white-flag factories and I'm expecting three massive shipments of product within the next two days. Our plan is to plant a white flag of surrender in each yard at least three days before the Nov.7 election to show our solidarity to the cause of surrender...while still signifying "support for our troops," of course. We'll put a little yellow ribbon or whatever on each flag saying something quaint like, 'Pray for the troops.' (These fly-over rubes eat it up when you say you believe there's a God, heh-heh.)

2,812 Dead US soldiers in Iraq
44,779 non-mortal casualties
5 years... No Bin Ladin
5 years... Iraq Civil War
5 years... "Stay the Course"
5 years... And we are told we still have 10 to go
5 years... Iraqi Government A Joke

- Tried to steal our social security with these private funds that only three financial groups would be able to manage - oh look they were old Bush supporters and donors
- Immigration Disaster
do you want me to keep going......
Look Im a moderate voter, but the fact speek for themselves. Im not some card carring liberal and don't buy into either side but look at the world around us. The evidence is there. These guys in Washington have got to go. They have been there too long and have gotten nothing done. You can live in the little fantasy world where you run around with hoods over your heads and guns slung over your shoulders but at some point you have to wake up and look at the world around you. We are in bad shape and it's these guys faults. I totally agree with the original poster, there is no current plan from this administration. All you need is a pair of eyes or a set of ears to realize that.
Time to kick out the bumbs and give someone else a try... 2,812 Dead US soldiers in Iraq and 44,779 non-mortal casualties is not a plan. If it is, it's the worst one we've ever tried to accomplish.
You know why Bushy hasn't stumped for anyone yet. Because no one wants him. Yes his won party doesn't want to be seen with him. Everything has been under the radar up to this point. The Reps know nothing else has been working so might as well give it one last shot, a hail mary so to speek. His appearance is only going to enrage voters more. Look for a landslide in the House come Nov. The senate is a longshot, always has been but there is a good chace with so many competative races this year. A complete change is totally not out of the question and would not be surprising.
Look for the Dems to pick up 20-35 of the cometative races out there in the house. Keep an eye on Missouri for the senat race. If it tips blue you will see Tennessee follow as well as possibly Virginia and a long shot but still a possibility Arizona. Tennessee can still tip blue without Missouri tipping and there is a very good chance of that happening.
Go Republicans!!!

Yes, Republicans are all about being eager to do whatever Democrats suggest. Good one.
