I Tivo'd the debate and watched the rest of the Fulmer v. Spurrier game, in which UT rallied late for a convincing win after a few misfires and mental mistakes. The ESPN announcers seemed quite disappointed.
Harold Ford Jr. had no mental mistakes or misfires. He was hitting on all cylinders as usual. In contrast, his opponent talked a lot of gibberish that didn't make any sense. For a minute there I thought maybe he hadn't shown up and they had gone out on the street and found some homeless guy, dressed him up and powdered his nose, and pushed him out on the stage to babble incoherently. ("We need to invest in research and enzymes!")
Whoever that guy was, he had no depth whatsoever on national issues. The audience laughed out loud when he talked about the clean campaign he'd run. And somebody ought to count how many times he said "make sure."
The Ford Report has a full blow-by-blow factchecking.
UPDATE: Sean Braisted live blogged it. And while you're over there, what the hell is this?

"This" has been circling
"This" has been circling waiting to land. I don't know what to think about the claim but I think it doesn't matter to me. I have enough reasons to vote FOR Harold Ford Jr. and plenty to reasons to vote AGAINST Bob Corker based on what I know to be true.
I just saw an internal poll that has Ford within 2 points of Corker in Chattannooga. It is damning in a huge way for a candidate to not beat the margin of error in his own home town particularly if it is supposed to be a Republican stronghold.
Right, Left, Jab, Duck, Right
KNOCKOUT! Yep, great night for Harold Ford Jr. and great news about internal polls in Chat Town.
My favorit moments of the debate.
- Sunquest Link... Great move cause it's true
- Crowd stopping Bobby in his track because they were laughing at his "I don't like dirty ads," comment. Stupid move.
- "We live in a world." Yes he actually said this. "We live in a world." period. Long pause......... Thanks for the info Bobby, I had no idea we lived in a world. Damn you are qualified to be senator aren't you......
- "SLOW THE GROWTH OF HEALTH CARE." What??? Yep Bobby thinks too many americans have health care because now he's saying he want's to slow it.... Great idea Bobby.
- When talking about making tough decisions Bobby was "proud" that he had to make cuts, including laying off people. What???? Yep, the man is proud of having to fire people and putting them out on the street. He said "There are people in this state that still won't vote for me because of that." Something to be real proud of Bobby.
Besides all his lies. Including the income tax came to life two years after he was gone.....Lie, it was the following year and there are emails he sent while Mayor to other republicans in the state addressing a "long term" fix to the states problems. Yes, everyone in politics knows "long term," when refering to finances, means tax hike, don't argue, poly sci anyalist all agree.
Great night for Ford and great night for Tennessee. 31 news outlets from all over the world got to see or read what took place in Nashville last night....an old fashion ass whooping......... Great night.

Don't forget, if we get a good turnout in Chatt and it rains in Memphis Corky wins...
Not.
Ford is clearly the better candidate. He's poised, polished and tough enough to stand up to the worst Republican slime machine operation this state has ever seen - which means he's plenty tough enough to stand up for TN in the Senate.
GO HAROLD!!!
Clarification, please?
Huh??
Australian PM John Howard is
Australian PM John Howard is pro-nuclear and tied to the hip of DC, and he's been pushing hard to have Australia start enriching a surplus of nuclear fuel for export.

Change your mind?
I thought you don't respond to people who aren't members of the elite clan here?
Anyway ... you are aware that there is a vast difference between nuclear weapons, and nuclear power and energy sources, right? My daddy taught me that one ... he was a newkyoolar engineer, ya know.
And that Australia is NOT a rogue nation, and IS am ally of the US?
Or did that suddenly change? Are they that upset over the Vegemite thing? Or maybe the South Park thing with Steve Irwin pushed them over the edge?
Hypocrisy
"Australia is NOT a rogue nation, and IS am ally of the US"
Hence the problem with our double standards. Only those in the "elite clan" of Friends of the US can enrich Uranium in order to create nuclear power (or Nuclear Weapons). It would strengthen or hand at negotiating with other countries if we applied the same nonproliferation policy to all Nations. While we are at it, we should stop investing in new nukes too...I'm all for Nuclear Power, but Nuclear weapons are the biggest waste of money known to man, and a travesty in a world where poverty is still the #1 killer.
Err ...
What was the topic again?
Oh yes ... Ford. Brilliant debate. Then he put foot in mouth.
Carry on.
he was a newkyoolar
Hey, where'd this apple come from?

Do you people have NO sense of humor at all?
I mock the mockery ... newkyoolar. It's common in these parts.
And just what in Sam hell does the NPT have to do with Ford mistakenly including Australia with rogue state that are seeking nuclear weapons?
Ford made a boo boo. I am pointing and laughing. Get over it.
He did well with his statement that he doesn't think "The Ad" is racist. Good on him for that. There ... feel better now? I said something nice about your boy.
Oops(?)
That's enough to make Baby Jesus cry ...
