Ok folks,
Everyone on this forum has by now has seen all the polls and read all the article and probably even voted already. It is time to truly make a difference. T-FAC is a group I just made up this morning and it stands for Tennesseans for a Change. Who here is willing to get 10 other people to vote Harold Ford Jr? I am coming in town this weekend to vote and that is what I plan on doing. Whether you remind someone who has yet to vote, convince a conservative to switch or ride your buddies who don’t give a shit to make it down to a poll for 5 minuets. No matter what happens in this election, we need to flood the East Tennessee polls with (D)’s so the pompous asses around here don’t take us for granted.
I expect some trolling on this thread by the uncles and coaches out there-screw em. I don’t know what else to do, Is anybody with me on this idea?

I agree! We have the right

I'm in Nash and can't help you, but God bless you, sir. Or madam. :)
Different strokes for different folks
I find it hard to talk to neighbors and acquaintances about politics but your idea made me think of something I think I can bring myself to do. I'll type up index cards with reasons to vote for Ford and hand them out.
I'll let you know how it turns out.
ps- I just realized how that subject line dates me. oh well, la di da, la di da.
Be a blessing to someone today.

We do not take you for granted, we are going to beat you...but again we do not take you for granted.
Rich, Old, White, Pompous Ass
You don't take them
You don't take them seriously either, which is really another issue. Or problem, depending on how you look at it. And if Ford's numbers in east TN are accurate according to a poll I saw lately? I think it may be your problem, Coach.

I love those polls that "I SAW LATELY" they always show your man a
head!
If Chatt. votes heavy and it rains in downtown memephis on election day..rais HARD...Corker is in.
Or you could just stick with leftists' tried-and-true methods...
like gathering up all the red-blooded American corpses and illegal aliens you can find to vote Democrat.
If that doesn't work, you could just continue Democrat policies of slashing the tires of Republicans using vans to shuttle people to the polls as you did last election; shooting into Republican election headquarters as you did during the last election; or trying to obfuscate issues like Amendment 1 on the current ballot, which someone suggested a few days ago. What was it, "If you don't want gay marriage, vote no, no, no on Amendment 1"?
Gee, I guess thuggery and trickery is a must when no one is willing to buy what you're selling in the marketplace of ideas.
*shrug*

You need to substantiate those serious charges or shut up. See the terms of use.
substandard goods
What was it, "If you don't want gay marriage, vote no, no, no on Amendment 1"?
It was all that and more, and I explicitly directed those remarks to dipshits and idiots. I'm glad they reached their intended audience.
It seems that if someone responds to you rationally or asks you a straightforward question, you don't reply, but if they ridicule you, you've got a response. Why do you go silent whenever the conversation moves toward civility and rationality?
In the marketplace of ideas, you are a counterfeiter.
Damn. Since I can't post
Damn. Since I can't post JPGs of what I think this empty void (calling itself egalia) deserves any more (thanks to her buddies' distorting what's going on around here to serve their twisted aims), I guess I'm left with the alternative: fluffy bunnies...
(Honest, I was going for the big-eyed, floppy eared variety, but I just couldn't resist this one when I found him on Google)
Oh, and I'd like some proof too. Not that you have any. If you guys did, you wouldn't be pouring millions of dollars into advertising busting some poor schlep in New York for his staff misdialling a phone number.
Smaller Scale Shenanigans
Me, I just wanna know who in my neighborhood is f*****g stealing my yard signs.
Not that it matters -- I know where to get more. It's just really annoying to either have to run out to the HQ to get 'em, or even more annoying, to find a long pole to fish them from the trees on my property. Nice touch, that.
But I have a surprise for the next moron who takes my yard signs, and since I'm the charitable sort, I'll post the warning here.
My yard signs are now tainted with a helping of (1) Liquid Ass and (2) Tink's #10 Skunk Oil. (Thankfully, the latter is in easy supply now that it's deer season. The other is mail order only, but hooooooooooo doggie.)
Fair warning. You touch my signs, your hands are going to smell like a dead skunk's rectum. And the smell doesn't come off easily. I may not be able to stop y'all from stealing my signs, but I can make you regret it.
(The warning is etched onto the signs in small print, too. It says, "SIGN THIEVES STINK.")

If it is happening overnight, you could connect an electric fence wire to your signs, although you might hear the occasional errie howl of a few wandering non-partisan dogs.
Protecting yard signs
When we first put out our "No war in Iraq" sign MANY years ago, it was vandalized several times. I started dumping the clumps from the cat box all around it and the vandals stopped. It turns to a clinging, stinking clay when wet. I sure wish I could have seen their car floor board after they stepped in it!
Not a bad idea. Was also
Not a bad idea. Was also thinking about getting a motion-trigger camera...mostly to snap whatever's chewing up our rain gutters, but it might be fun to send the GOP neighbors photos of themselves with a friendly reminder that they're trespassing.
I suspect there's not enough rain in the sky to stop Memphis from coming out on this one. I can think of a few community leaders I know out there who'd be busy cheerfully building arks, should it be required.
I trekked to Halls yesterday
I trekked to Halls yesterday about 10:30 thinking the rain would make for short lines. Wrong again, but not a bad experience; they weren't that long and I got to chat with an old friend I hadn't seen since we retired. I wore my lucky charm this time (hidden under my jacket), my 1936 "On With Roosevelt" button that once belonged to Dad's brother. I forgot to take it with me in 2004 and you saw what happened then.
I need to change my tag line; the RNC has taken it as its mantra. "If a thing is worth having, it's worth cheating for." - W. C. Fields

Hey, a day or two ago we were told Blount and Knox County both were out of HFJ yard signs. You guys need to stop wasting yours!
