Numbers
If you look at the 2002 early voting numbers, hardly anyone voted in Shelby the first few days, so I don't know that one should make much from a first day comparison.
For the first 3 days in 2002, Anderson County actually had more voters than Shelby.

I'd rather be cycling.
Michael Silence says it's
Michael Silence says it's because they only had three early voting centers in Shelby in 2002 v. nineteen this year.
And Williamson only has one.
And Williamson only has one. I can't figure that one out.

whoever wrote the "14 times" line in the Tennessean would have wondered about that.
Speaking of news headlines, here's a pretty good one: "Bush stumps for adulterer, candidate accused of slurs"

beanster.hope i'm wrong
when the whole flap aboat orange shirts, knox center & early voting came up i made a comment on Cafkia's blog(e-mail of interest 7/16)about early voting & location...i was worried that closing the Knox Center location would hurt the total early voting turn-out...right now turn out is lower than 4 yrs ago...hopefully the reason is voters have not made up their mind on who to vote for..& in the last days early voting turn out will offset the lower turn out of the first few days
I'll just bet they are, and
I'll just bet they are, and several times no doubt ... pulse is optional.
That's a pretty slanderous
That's a pretty slanderous charge to make without evidence, particularly when a Memphis guy is in a very competitive, heated and potentially historic race for the US Senate. Harold Ford Jr. is an impressive, likeable candidate who has captured the votes of a lot of voters he wasn't supposed to get. On the other hand, he's been so demonized by the good ole boys that he'll draw in lots of voters who just want to keep him out of the club. Either way you look at it, I don't see why anybody should be surprised that a lot of people in Memphis are voting. There's a pretty spirited race being waged for his old House seat, too.
Slanderous ? Hardly ..
Slanderous ? Hardly .. especially if the harold is getting any advice from ophelia.
