Great American Group of Los Angeles was the highest bidder at a March 29th bankruptcy auction for all remaining assets of Hancock Fabrics. Hancock filed for bankruptcy in February.

Great American announced they are closing all 185 remaining stores and liquidating all the company's assets. They are conducting a "going out of business" sale with steep discounts at all stores and at Hancock's website.

Hancock's Knoxville and Maryville stores have been closed for some time. It appears their remaining Tennessee stores are in Murfreesboro, Cookeville, Chattanooga, Kingsport, Johnson City, Clarksville, Jackson, and three stores in Memphis.
