Admittedly, I'm confused...
(in reply to bizgrrl)
Seems like this would have created a great number of well-paying jobs and was supported by our neighbor/ally Canada and would have contributed to greater energy independence and from some studies would have been environmentally preferable.

Keystone would be great for
(in reply to Gary Harrison)
Keystone would be great for the U.S.! It could create a few permanent minimum wage jobs that would generate zero tax revenue to compensate for all of the massive destruction it would cause. What a bunch of bullshit these Republican and Democratic lawmakers were trying to sell to the American people. What a pathetic argument McConnell and his cronies were pushing and will push again. Anybody that honestly thinks the Keystone pipeline would be good for the United States needs a mental evaluation.

Doubtful
(in reply to Anon0721)
Keystone is not supplying the immediate market. It's not done yet. The price of gas is based on immediate availability and immediate factors facing supply. It's likely a supply issue.
TriCities ESP

gas went up thirty cents per gallon on Wednesday in Johnson City.

When has gas ever been
When has gas ever been cheaper, really? Yet its externalized costs are spiraling ever higher.*
I wish he would have just firmly done this a long time ago. All he needed to say is that it is not in the interest of our country or his admin to enable plunderers for the crack cocaine of fossil fuels. Not in those words. But all this drama and process did not seem necessary.
*Is our latest drive-by troll really trying to imply that Obama is hurting the price of gasoline?
1.99
It was still 1.99 at the Pilot on Merchants. They never went real low, but it doesn't look like it's going up.
The pipeline was planned to
The pipeline was planned to the Gulf for export. There are plenty of oil refineries in the northern section of the United States that could have processed the crude for the U.S. market.
