Typically, the extremely wealthy give a higher portion of their incomes to charity than middle and upper-middle income Americans. After all, you can only buy so many yachts, vacation homes, and Teslas before you start to look for other ways to spend money. But that doesn't seem to be true for the Waltons, who've redefined what it means to be a Scrooge.

but...I thought you could

but...I thought you could save money and live better, both of which are positive things, by shopping at Walmart. I've actually been shopping at K-Mart for the past few years. Should I start shopping at Target instead of K-Mart? maybe I'll just stay with Amazon and K-Mart. I could probably do worse.

No matter where you buy shoes

No matter where you buy shoes they're probably made in China. They used to make clothes here in Knoxville, if you can believe that! there was a factory on Cherry Street where they made Levi's blue jeans, and a factory off of Washington Avenue where they made underwear. I think Knoxville was once known the underwear capital of the world, or something like that. American labor became too expensive in the globalized economy, and all those jobs in Knoxville had to be shipped to Mexico, China, Vietnam, etc. There were other clothes factories in Knoxville, too. Now you can drive out to Walmart and buy cheap clothes. or maybe you wouldn't even need to drive their new store at University Commons. You can park in Tyson Park and stroll over.
